    I am Harudath, and I am Gaul :tongue: For those thinking "yay defense", the Gauls are actually not as impressive as you'd think. Druidriders.. meh... Traps... Only useful early on, stopping 30 troops in part of a 10,000 troop wave is fail. Phalanxes are actually pretty crap in that they don't defend as well as one would think they are, but I love them so I'm playing them :tongue:

    We need moar playurz. But I think once TBonZ and Keebs hear how well we're doing they'll want in on the action :tongue: Althogh it won't be the same without TF1 and SnakeEyes :(

    TBonZ, SillyViking and I have talked of forming a Triumvirate in the past... but I can't speak for definite on their behalfs!

    I'm reasonably flexible with who I play, I'm not planning on playing as frequently as last server, but as long as communication's good, there's no reason the teuton's sitters can't help to keep the raiding up to date!

    TB IS playing again.... I think TB, Silly, and Lambo would do just fine.

    Once we get this straightened out, I will plop a message on the main Travian boards to look for players fitting the IC lifestyle, if you'd like. OR we can just wait and look for good players in our areas and recruit them. Up to you guys on that. We did the latter with most of you, right, and we did fine. ;)

    At the moment I am still not sure. I would like to play again but don't want to spend as much time. So if I play would like to be in a group where there is a more active player. Who could sit for me, and I am happy with Roman (defensive) , as I am not an aggressive player.

    Definitely BOTH :D ! At the very worst, some of the IC players do a FelixdeSouze and pass on stronger accounts to people who've been unfortunate in their map placement!

    Phalanx are the second cheapest unit (315) behind the macemen (225). They are really not bad units...

    Phalanx = 90 defensive points @ 315 = 0.29 defensive points per resource point.
    Spearmen = 95 defensive points @ 340 = 0.28 defensive points per resource point.
    Legionnaire = 85 defensive points @ 440 = 0.19 defensive points per resource point.
    Praetorian = 100 defensive points @ 460 = 0.22 defensive points per resource point.

    So... Phalanx is the cheapest per defensive point troop there is out there and they are rather fast to produce. 7:14 minutes at lvl1 barracks or 1:01 @ lvl20.

    I did Teutons and had 13000 spearmen. They did OK against foot troops and no one seemed to really use a ton of horse.

    Sorry to be so late to the party, but...

    COUNT ME IN :D

    I would like to stay as Romans again and am more than happy to be in that "triumvirate" (posh word Lambo!!) and will endeavour, this time, to stop him getting me into sooooo much trouble :cool:

    Ummm Lambo and I just did a test run of signing up for 2 accounts each on the UK1 server at the same time (with military precision) and I ended up at:

    -84/-113 & -142/-15

    and Lambo ended up at:

    -129 /-58 & -61 /-131

    sooooo this suggests the synchronised mass sign in wont make a lot of odds - which should please Muffin :p

    A GIGANTIC SPANNER IN THE WORKS

    Is that SV and I just checked on uk1, by registering 4 accounts at the same time... we got: -84/-113 : -142/-15 : -61 / -131 : -129 / -58

    Looks like you can choose your friends, but not your neighbours!

    EDIT: Damned slow typing!!!!!!!

    Baaah that really sucks about the randomized start locations... I really would have like to group with Q and greywolf. But we can still pump out our second villages pretty soon and move together that way. Also, I talked to TheGr81 and he said he is definitely going teutons. He is having some internet problems atm. We still have to figure out which quadrant were gonna start in. I figure there is going to be at least a couple big alliances in every quadrant so we might as well go NW, where we are familiar with the coordinates already.

    We are making one last experiment - we both re-registered 2 accounts each on the comx server to see if pre-reg is better for being nearer!!

    We will have news tomorrow - once the server starts.

    We did also have another plan - we all sign in for multiple accounts (denoting same pc usage of course) and then keep the account that is most ideally located, then deleting the others ... certainly increases the odds if you have 2, 3 or 4 villages to choose from :D

    I know everyone seems skittish around the hardcore players, but dont we want to try and make a base near a natar village area? or do we want to just play and join another group who is closest to one....i mean it seems we gotta few people who want action....well there will be tons of it with people jockeying for position near those natar spawn spots. just a thought!!!

    I know it may not be possible, but it would be cool if we were the ones people were trying to join in order to win the game, not the other way around....maybe im a dreamer, but that would be awesome!!!

    Im not afraid of the other Alliances....a war is war, and its just a game and nothing more....:bigggrin:

    I'm not afraid of the alliances... I'm afraid of the logistics of managing a Natar village and the WW plans. DTD has a few servers under their belts and they sucked. I think we are way ahead of the game because we communicate and work well together. What we lack is first hand experience with a Natar village. I've been looking at the logs from Mcrmy's Natar village and I am astounded with the level of complexity involved with managing wheat, troops, building, and coordination for all that... That's just the coordination and planing...

    Now... the time required to pull that off. You had better not have a job or a personal life for 2 weeks and ready to get no sleep for the final few days...

    I'd rather become an alliance that is sought after by a WW caliber alliance to hook up with. I'm not looking for wing status this round. I want {IC} wings and a strong coalition with some big hitters... hopefully be part of the planing and execution of a Natar village.

    We pull that off... we can make a push for the Fall server being an {IC} Win!!
