The Norwegian Consumer Council has stated that the whole "pay to play used games" policy is against Norwegian law, meaning Microsoft wont be allowed to sell a single console in Norway until it's changed. No Xbox One for us. Not that I really care. In this regard it could also be interesting to take a look at the "UsedNet vs Oracle" case in The European Court. Maybe not quite the same, but still something to consider.
Actually, considering the department shakeup that's been happening, and all of the new stuff that's going on with the PS4, I'd be -worried- if they didn't push a small fee for online.
Sure, Sony's online had a free lunch for PS3. And look what it got them. Mind you, there were a lot of different factors involved in the PS3's numerous (and drastic) online troubles, but having an underfunded, apathetic department in charge of it sure as hell doesn't help matters.
It's why I never minded Microsoft charging for gold AS MUCH (though locking Netflix/etc behind the paywall always reeked of bullshit).
HOW can a company this fucking established be this fucking stupid.
Maybe they just don't care anymore. They HAVE to know that they've screwed up big-time. I could just already imagine after every conference they all sit together in a dingy-lit backroom, totally silent, smoking cigarettes like crazy, and avoiding eye-contact.
(Also, if this video shows up as unavailable- at the moment Microsoft is apparently trying their damnedest to wipe this video off of youtube. It's a video of Xbox Exec Don Mattrick basically saying "If you don't have the ability to keep connected to play Xbox One, then fuck you, just settle for/stick with the 360")
I saw a really good point today: They've basically just cut off the entire deployed US Armed Forces from using the Xbone. Looks like they'll all be transitioning to the PS4.

I came across this point also.... the fact that a lot of these soldiers are the same peeps that come home and eat up COD games means it is going to hurt XBone for a long time.
Also I would like to point out; XBone, I am 14 and that is funny.
Jeezum Fucking Crow. The issue is actually even WORSE than originally suspected. I'm running out of words. I...this is a joke, right? They CAN'T be serious.

Not entirely true, but I agree that Sony will be picking up a damn large amount of new military customers very soon
I just ordered ~$500 in computer parts for my next PC build. Reading over this discussion only solidifies my desire to ignore this generation of consoles.

This is so far into cartoon levels of incompetence it's almost unreal.
@mertesn - I hope it does well, I really do. I just think it will be very niche. The PC has allot going for it. It's a wider platform, most available titles, ways to tailor your experience (like the Rift), games cost less, are easier to obtain, generally look and sound better.
You all have probably saw the presentation. Maybe laughed at the name. Saw the features this new system has in store.
If you haven't seen the presentation, you can go here and watch the whole thing at xbox.com
What are your thoughts on this next-gen system? Will you get it at launch? Annnnnnnnnnd go.
I think ms has been bought out by the CIA. This system is perfect for the thought police. :-). I think if I had to choose I would opt for the ps4 but with this system I would be able to buy used games without all the hassle. Plus you get to upgrade the HDD. The ps4 looks sosexy.

Pretty much going to get a PS4 now if I ever get a next-gen console

But yeah. Funny enough my little brother's about to be deployed to Afghanistan here in a couple of weeks (Marines).

I think the clear winner of E3 is in fact the PC.
