I have a DIME shaped guitar (Dean ML but the DIME series "Dime-O-Flame"). Id walk across broken glass for a 7 string version! (I have 3 x 7string guitars).

It was just hanging in a pawn shop. It's a good thing I didn't have my first born with me...

I have a question for any guitarist who may be familiar with steve hackett.
What effect does he use on the solo in the song "ripples" from the album a trick of the tale? Is it a "slow-gear" effect"? Just not sure what it's called but very unique and eerie ...I love it.

I play the guitar....If you guys need rhythm guitar (6 string electric) for any song hit me up on aim at tmh88j

ok csimon i just listened to it. I'm not sure the exact name for it, but it just reverses the note. I've used that effect one of those big effects boards, theyre alot of fun to mess around with. So it kinda takes the initial strike of the string and plays that last, so it sounds like the note starts soft and then becomes loud with a sharp end.

if you listen to the song give it away by the red hot chili peppers, he uses that same effect in his solo.

    Thanks I'll check that out.

Long long ago in the 70's I was at a music shop and they had an effect-pedal (common popular brand at the time) and they called it a "slow-gear". Ever since then I've wondered "what-the-hell". I've always want'ed to try it on a bass but still haven't had the opportunity.
