Played quite a few rounds last night. Awesome game!! Fatcat and I found out what happens when you jump off the roof at the beginning. It's definitely a team oriented game. I can't wait until the full game and controlling some zombies in versus mode. 4 vs. 4 IC vs. battles will be pretty epic.
Well, if someone doesn't show... Bobby is the replacement. And if we don't win, Bobby will take over a position. I know that he is good. Played a few rounds on advance with him last night.
So...this game is REALLY that much fun? I mean...I dropped TF2 after no time because FPS just doesn't tend to be my style (also had a bad/awful pc) to start with.
We start at 10. Gate28 doesnt show up for a few minutes so we get BlackHawk. Then, when BlackHawk join, Gate28 says he's ready. So we play with BlackHawk. Get to the Second level, and Prime needs to reboot. We get Tiberius to take his spot. Then fatcat suddenly disappears. So we ask BobbyDigi to play. No reply. So we get TBonz. He joins. Then Bobby says he'll play.
AND... we never beat Expert mode.
I'm ready to try again later tonight, though. Be prepared. First three to join me this time.

I can already tell this thread is going to be as epic as the TF2 thread.
I should have no problem being there tonight should you need someone.\
Edit: Also, I wonder how long until someone mods it to allow large numbers of players....just think if we could get 10 or so people with a horde size to match
Just tried expert with Canti, Lynx, and Canti's friend. No avail. We keep getting stuck in the sewers. Tonight will be the night.
We saw a witch. I told the team "Stay on the left side of the train. No flashlights." We run past the train, or at least I thought we did. I turned around and see Lynx (he was Francis) right over the witch pointing at her. His character screaming "WITCH!!!" Then we lost.
Something that has always annoyed me in source games is the inability to have a toggle crouch. It really is annoying this game because if you accidentally let go of the crouch button you stand up and most likely are greeted with a dosage of shrapnel in the back.
If you want your crouch button to be toggled (push once to crouch, push again to stand) add this to the "autoexec.cfg" file in the ..\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead demo\left4dead\cfg folder
alias crouch "+duck;bind LEFTCONTROL nocrouch"
alias nocrouch "-duck;bind LEFTCONTROL crouch"
bind LEFTCONTROL crouch
Change LEFTCONTROL to be whatever your crouch button is (for those who have some crazy key mappings :cough:eggy:cough:). Played a quick round earlier with this and it definitely made things easier.
Edit: this isn't anything new, just spreading the word. It can also be used in all other source games (afaik)
damn I beat expert last night advanced tonight me eggroll and -K tried tonight n expert, made it half way thru the second lvl with major fail coming right after that around 15 times!
I beat it on expert last night with Tiberius, Preacher, and Black Hawk. Very win team. Nothing can stop us!
We seriously worked like a Special Ops Squad. It was awesome.
The key to winning is EXACTLY what fatcat said in his Gaming Article. Lots of talk (you need a mic in this game). You must know where teammates are and let them do their job. You have to have at least one guy watching your back at all times. There are loads of zombie hordes that come from behind.
If your team can master those elements, you can beat expert.
Another tip though: Don't let the Boomer throw up!!! It causes a swarm of Infected to attack from all sides. Every time!

I'd like to step up to this challenge.
