Fischerspooner - A Kick In The Teeth

It's lame how I found them - their cover art intrigued me. I gave it a sample listen on iTunes and fell in love with it.

Good stuff, and I usually don't like electronica.

I do the same thing sometimes. Or buy the album because the band has a cool name. It's usually turned out well though

    Just got this today.

    Dum Dog Run - [self-titled]

Definitely get this album! It's a throwback to classic rock, but GOOD! His voice is vaguely reminiscient of Ozzy's, but the rest sounds like a lot like The Who. Totally worth it.

    Other albums specifically played lately:
    The Format - Snails EP
    P:ano Magic - Disaffected
Brian Jonestown Massacre - Tepid Peppermind Wonderland: A Retrospective
DJ Danger Mouse - The Grey Album... I'm not big on rap at all. However, he takes Jay-Z's "Black Album" and mixes it with the Beatles' "White Album." It's very interesting. I think the lyrics are a bit rough for this, mainly because, well, it's Jay-Z. But it's interesting nonetheless (and entirely free... you will not find it on any store shelves, apparently (due to the Beatle's rep bitching about it or something)).

    Edit:
A friend sent me this link: http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/28721/ . A Capella Nintendo songs (and some acting). Very funny, and completely cool.

Some good stuff posted here. I'll have to track some down on Napster

Was anybody in academic decathalon in high school? My senior year, the music selection was blues/jazz. We all got this kickass CD, and that's what I'm listening to right now. My favorites:

Louis Armstrong - St. James Infirmary
    Billie Holiday - Lover Man
Duke Ellington - Take the "A" Train

People For Audio - And This Will Be Our Homecoming
A Northern Chorus - Prisoners of Circumstance
Winter Equinox - The Long Walk Home

All very Explosions In The Sky-esque. The last one, by Winter Equinox, really seems perfect right. Just the melodies, rhythm, flow... all of it seems to be perfectly fitting for some reason.
